TAFE Queensland participates in a range of scholarship and award programs. CQ TAFE also coordinates various competitions and promotions.

Queensland Training AwardsNominations open for the 2012 Queensland Training Awards This year marks 51 years of recognising individuals and organisations who strive for success, best practice and innovation in training. The awards are the state's highest recognition for excellence in vocational education and training. Categories cover all areas of the training and vocational education sector, including student, teacher, employer and organisation awards.

The WorldSkills International competitions bring together the best and brightest apprentices from around the world to display their talents and compete in this prestigious competition.
Internships
Walt Disney World International Program
The Walt Disney World International Program is an internship program sponsored by The Walt Disney Company. TAFE graduates from all disciplines or fields of expertise are welcome to apply.
The duration of the program is 6 or 12 months, and students will be able to work in fully operational roles.
Students can also study subjects that are offered free to Australian students and have been recommended for credit by the American Council of Education.
Scholarships
Department of Education, Training and Employment Community Services Grants and Scholarships
One-off grants are available to undertake accredited training in qualifications from the Community Services Training Package. Up to ten compulsory units of competency can be funded. One-off grants of a minimum $500 and a maximum $1000 are available.
You are eligible if:
- you are employed by a Queensland non-government community service or you have been identified as a potential employee of a community services agency, which is prepared to endorse your application
- you are a volunteer or carer from a HACC service
- you are undertaking or plan to undertake compulsory Community Services competencies under the Community Services Training Package offered by a Queensland Registered Training Organisation (RTO).
Early Childhood Teacher Scholarship for Advanced Diploma Holders
Are you an early childhood employee interested in undertaking further study to upgrade your qualifications to teach early childhood education?
From 1 January 2014, all long day care and kindergarten services will be required to employ a four year qualified early childhood teacher to provide leadership in the delivery of the kindergarten program.
The Office for Early Childhood Education and Care is providing an opportunity to employees in long day care and kindergarten services who hold Advanced Diploma qualifications, to apply for an Early Childhood Teacher Scholarship for Advanced Diploma holders.
Eligible employees with an Advanced Diploma qualification will be able to upgrade their qualifications at university so they can teach an approved kindergarten program.
Queensland Overseas Foundation scholarships
The Queensland Overseas Foundation is offering four scholarships up to $7000 to former apprentices, trainees or vocational students to support travel to a country of their choice to work or undertake further training in their field. Closing 31 October 2012.

This organisation has nursing scholarships for undergraduates and TAFE scholarships.
