Who we are
The Energy and Mines Faculty of Central Queensland of TAFE (CQIT) is an industry-focused delivery unit. CQIT is Queensland's largest and most experienced training provider in the Resources Sector and Infrastructure. As such we have the training infrastructure to excel in providing essential training services to the Resource and Infrastructure Sectors.
What we aim to achieve
The Faculty of Energy and Mines is able to provide products and services from a wide range of training packages and courses to achieve a holistic training solution for the Resource and Infrastructure Industries. We aim to build the capacity of resource industry personnel to ensure a highly skilled and qualified workforce to service this high growth, specialised industry.
By keeping pace with labour market trends and maintaining strong relationships with industry and government organisations, CQIT continually strives to be responsible to the skilling needs of the resource industry and deliver training to meet the industry's requirements. The essential factor in CQIT's responsiveness is its unique ability to harness knowledge of the mining community through partnering arrangements to develop and delivery necessary training solutions.
CQIT's key innovation in the delivery of training services is its exceptional business model which enables personnel to deliver training and assessment on site in the workplace. Our innovative approach to training delivery is of benefit to organisations, personnel and industry as the training is conducted by industry-experienced trainers using equipment that operates in the workplace under workplace conditions as well as minimal down-time from the workforce.
What we can do for you
The Faculty of Energy and Mines works in partnership with the resource and infrastructure sectors to develop customised training and delivery solutions. This Faculty is able to deliver training on site, on campus, by self-paced learning and flexible delivery options.
Our Objectives
The training objective of CQIT Faculty of Energy and Mines is to deliver industry relevant, nationally recognised training and assessment services that:
- Enable organisations to achieve sustainable skilled workforces for safe and productive operations
- Ensures personnel are competent to perform their duties to the highest national standards
- Offers pathways for advancement within the resource industry from entry level to supervisory and management roles
- Supports organisations to comply with relevant acts and regulations
- Facilitates continues skill development by "refreshing" and upgrading the skills of workers to current industry standards
