The institute's training excellence is well-recognised, scoring consistently high approval ratings and winning multiple awards such as the state's Large Training Provider of the Year for 2000, 2002 and 2003 and Queensland Furnishing Industries Training Provider of the Year for 2001 and 2002.

Training packages and individual training plans
We ensure that each apprentice has an individual training plan enabling them to gain competency for skills in the workplace. This training plan is a true partnership between the institute, the apprentice and you as the employer. Our competent staff can guide you through this process.
National Training Packages have been implemented over the last few years. The packages ensure that the training standard and overall award your apprentice will receive is recognised throughout Australia. Training packages can be customised to meet your needs as an employer.

Training support for you and your employees
Not only do we provide quality training, but we also ensure that your apprentice receives the necessary support to be successful in completing their training both on and off the job. Literacy and numeracy support and a well-equipped library facility are available for apprentices and trainees.
The Campus Counsellor, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Support Officers, and a Disability Support Officer are able to offer professional support.
