There are no pre-requisites for this course, however potential students would benefit from having completed a Certificate IV in Project Management or other relevant qualifications at Certificate IV or higher, with extensive vocational experience in project roles where they may have had some limited responsibility for the output of others, and without a formal project management qualification. It is exected that students will be working in a project environment, and have access to project material to draw from for course assessment.
This course is currently offered via online study some and on campus study can be available.
Approximately 380 hours of study time will be involved however, the training duration will depend on the electives and study mode selected.
Successful completion of this course could lead to employment opportunities as a Project Manager or Project Leader.
All students must wear covered footwear on campus in accordance with the TAFE safety policy. Student will need access to a computer with internet/email. Students will require the following textbook:- A guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK Guide) 4th ed. Published by the Project Management Institute (ISBN: 978-1-933890-51-7). Students studying online will require a PC with the following specifications: Windows XP / Vista / 7 / 8, Internet Explorer 7, 8 or 9. Java, Headset with a microphone. If using an Apple Mac or other system (iPad or tablet) your trainer will provide details on what is required.
